A businessman named Babul Hossain was allegedly attacked, looted and assaulted at his house due to business transactions in Mohadevpur, Naogaon.

The incident took place on Friday (September 13) at around 11:00 pm in Shibrampur of Uttargram union of the upazila. The victim, Babul Hossain, is the son of Kachhir Uddin, the deceased of that village. In this regard, he filed a written complaint at Mohadevpur police station on Saturday.

In the complaint, he alleged that Sanowar Hossain, the son of Abdul Gafur, called him at 10:25 PM from his mobile phone (01791-616197) because of the business dealings of Arman Hossain, son of the deceased Abdus Chhattar of the same village, and asked him to come out.

As soon as he woke up and opened the door, a group of 20-25 people led by Mostafizur Rahaman and Arman’s brother Ilyas Hossain attacked their house with native weapons Hasua, Ramda, Basher Lathi.They forcibly took his nephew Emdadul Haque’s FZ-2 motorcycle (Naogaon L 12-8144) from there. He also alleged that while leaving, he looted Tk 4 lakh cash kept in a tank under the bed of the house, 4 check books of Islami Bank and Pubali Bank Mohadevpur branch and land tenure documents.

When the opponents tried to stop him, his wife Marina Begum and old mother Khoteja Begum were punched. They were injured. They are given first aid. He demanded proper investigation of the incident and recovery of looted goods.

When asked, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Mohadevpur Police Station Ruhul Amin said, I have received the complaint. Action will be taken after investigation.

It was not possible to contact the opponents in this regard.
